The world is changing and concerns over our impact on the climate and environment become a more important driver in our personal lives as well as our work lives. Tight margins, introduction of updated regulations, societal and environmental demands for how we manage existing and new assets become an increasingly important challenge to the E and P industry in order to maintain our license-to-operate. However, energy demand will persist and hydrocarbons will continue to play an important role for the next several decades.Some E and P companies are moving towards establishing themselves as broader and greener energy companies; this will require heavy investment in alternative energy sources funded by hydrocarbon income for years to come.
