Memo

With fisheries and NGOs sometimes disagreeing on the future direction of the MSC, what is the best course to help the fishing sector deliver the sustainability commitments demanded by retailers and consumers?

Through the lens of UN Sustainable Development Goal 14 (SDG 14), this year's Seafood Futures Forum invites you to join the discussion on how to balance the need to live within our oceans' ecological limits, while ensuring seafood supplies are safeguarded for this and future generations. We'll discuss how effective multi-stakeholder engagement can help deliver reductions in overfishing, the eradication of IUU, minimise impacts on habitats and improve science-led management - all critical components of the MSC program. We'll also address the growing expectations around transparency and continuous improvement to ensure the MSC maintains its robust, mission-driven programme.
