Memo

The International Symposium on OMAI has gained reputation as an outstanding, leading meeting in the field of auditory implants. Bringing together scientists and clinicians has been the hallmark of the symposium. On behalf of the organizing and scientific committees we look forward to hosting the Symposium with high commitment and expectation. We will follow the enduring tradition of a well-organized meeting, with a high-quality focused scientific program that will cover state-of-the-art methods for evaluating the auditory system from the cochlea to the cortex using electrophysiology and imaging, advances in auditory implants technologies, genetics, and robotics.

The symposium will be hosted by The Hearing, Speech, and Language Center at The Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, together with the Department of Communication Disorder, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University. In concert, the two institutes, located under one roof, lead the field of communication disorders in Israel. Objective measures have always been at the core of our clinical practice and research in hearing science in general, and in the field of cochlear implants in particular. Sheba medical center is a pioneer in the field of cochlear implants, with first implantations executed in 1989.

The symposium will be held at the Dan Panorama Hotel in Tel Aviv, Israel's largest city located along the beautiful Mediterranean coastline, and renowned for its distinctive Bauhaus architecture. This busy metropolis invigorates visitors with a unique energetic atmosphere, outstanding museums, cultural events, international cuisine, and non-stop active nightlife. As an ancient metropolis, Israel now not only boasts a modern thriving economy, but also a culture rich with historical sites and a diverse heritage including Jerusalem, the capital city, sacred to three monotheistic religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

We look forward to welcoming you in Tel Aviv, Israel.
