A deeper understanding of plant genomes can open new pathways for agricultural innovation. PBGC 2027, formally known as the International Congress on Plant Biology, Genome Editing and Crop Sciences (PBGC 2027) (Hybrid Event), will assemble an international scientific community in Rome, Italy, from June 17–19, 2027. Participants may attend in person or connect through the online component. The Plant Biology Conference provides an interdisciplinary environment for examining plant life from molecular, genetic, physiological and agricultural perspectives. Research areas may encompass genome architecture, genetic diversity, gene regulation, developmental mechanisms, plant metabolism and environmental responses. Advances in sequencing and computational analysis are enabling scientists to investigate increasingly complex datasets generated from plant systems. Precision breeding and genome engineering provide important links between molecular discoveries and crop improvement. Discussions at Plant Conferences 2027 may include CRISPR/Cas systems, targeted editing, gene-function analysis, transformation procedures and molecular screening. These approaches can be investigated in relation to characteristics such as pathogen resistance, stress tolerance, nutritional composition, yield and crop quality. Broader crop research can address plant breeding, germplasm evaluation, seed performance, phenotyping, physiology and plant protection. Climate-related pressures such as water deficit, excessive heat and salinity create additional research challenges, encouraging investigation into mechanisms that support plant survival and productivity. Interactions involving beneficial microorganisms may offer further opportunities for improving plant performance. The Plant Science Conference is suited to specialists from universities, research organizations, agricultural institutions and biotechnology sectors. Plant scientists, geneticists, molecular biologists, breeders, agronomists, bioinformaticians, students and industry professionals can use the congress as a venue for communicating research and establishing scientific connections. Through a combination of onsite and remote engagement, PBGC 2027 encourages knowledge sharing across geographic and disciplinary boundaries. The event connects foundational discoveries in plant biology with genomic technologies and crop-oriented research, creating opportunities to examine emerging approaches for understanding and improving important plant systems.
