Dear Colleagues, To celebrate our remarkable scientific legacies, the 2020 Mental Health Congress will take place under the motto “Raising Awareness, Back to the Past and Looking to the Future”. Medicine as a whole is going through a period of challenge world-wide and mental health and social care is being excessively affected. To rise to these challenges, we need to hold our hope and find new ways of working. Psychiatry’s continuing evolution, involving the organisation of better mental health services, the development of innovative models of care, and the discovery of new research paradigms, drives us to share the latest discoveries for the benefit of all. Many challenges still exist, but by drawing on the successes from the past and moving forward with new knowledge together, we can help shape a better future for professionals and patients alike. We would like to invite you to join us in Abu Dhabi so that we can all learn from one another by sharing our experiences and knowledge to uncover new insights on the complex disorders we treat, exchange practical techniques and guidance for everyday clinical challenges, and reinforce our commitment to our patients and their carers.
