Nutrition, physical activity and other healthy lifestyle behaviors are vital components in the promotion of health and in the treatment of disease. This program highlights ambulatory nutrition and wellness topics with multidisciplinary faculty. Current clinical topics are highlighted through presentations, interactive case studies and panel discussions. Participants have many opportunities for interaction with course faculty selected for their expertise, knowledge and clinical acumen. Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:-Identify practical strategies to assess and manage medically-complicated obesity and related comorbidities.-Select appropriate exercises that would benefit patients with limited or no access to an exercise facility.-Recommend evidence-based dietary guidelines to patients with specific comorbidities, to include tips on food preparation.-Recall ways to help patients improve sleep quality.
