Symposium on Dynamic Response and Failure of Composite Materials

It is my pleasure to invite you to participate in the second edition of the International Symposium on Dynamic Response and Failure of Composite Materials, 07-09 September 2016, Ischia (Naples), Italy.

This symposium will address current research topics related to composite materials and sandwich structures. To ensure the highest possible quality all speakers will be invited by the organizing committee. Several principal investigators from the ONR Solid Mechanics program attended the first edition, and they have been invited to organize a ONR Special Session. The symposium will have a strong emphasis on marine applications with presentations on the design of high speed marine vehicles, underwater explosions and fluid-structure interactions in addition to more general topics. Three sessions will be dedicated to Blast Mitigation, Durability, and Cold Temperature Effects.

I am very glad to inform you that also this year, extended abstracts from three to eight pages, will be published on the Special Issue of Procedia Engineering, and that important Journals like "Progress in Aerospace Sciences" and "Composite Structures", accepted to publish some selected and revised papers.

Extended abstracts and full papers are required only for the publication and they are not mandatory.
